Alumni News

In August 2017, over 20 AAS alumni from the graduating class of 2007 gathered at the Hard Rock Cafe in Mayfair, London, UK for a memorable 10-year reunion. Many alumni come from across the Atlantic, while others lived in the UK or other European countries. The evening turned out to be a delightful mix of locations, personalities and interesting stories, united by the unforgettable memories at the Anglo-American School of Moscow.
Much credit goes out to 3 of our wonderful alumnae, Monika, Shivani and Naomi who started planning the reunion many months in advance. They created a facebook group, polled for the best dates and locations and contacted the AAS Communications Department for support. An Eventbrite page allowed other alumni guests to purchase their tickets in advance to help cover venue expenses.
The communications and development department at AAS was able to cover the cost of custom AAS 10-year reunion t-shirts, which we designed and delivered to the reunion, along with some other fun swag.

In addition to reconnecting with each other, 2007 graduates appreciated the short video hello from AAS Russian language teachers Nina Nazarenko and Nina Mamina that the AAS communication department was able to show at the reunion. We even recorded a short reply message to Nina Nazarenko from Laura, one of her former students who came to the reunion all the way from Los Angeles, California.
All in all, it was inspiring to meet former AAS students, each on his or her own exciting path through life. Some were founders and business owners, others worked in public service, there were educators and bankers, as well as those who pursued their MBAs and Ph.D.’s in a variety of fields.
In addition to the fun memories of high school mischief, a few recurring themes kept immerging in conversations about how well everyone felt prepared after AAS and the strength of the friendships made within the AAS community.

We hope this inspires you to plan your own alumni reunion. All it takes is your enthusiasm and some advance planning. We at the AAS communications and development department hope to support your event to make it into a memorable experience for you and your guests. Do not hesitate to reach out to for support or guidance towards planning your next reunion.
